Tire Selection
Selecting the right tire, with the right benefits, with the right warranty is confusing and a challenge for the average consumer. They are immediately faced with an overwhelming number of choices. Which brand? What's the right application for my vehicle? What speed rating do I really need? Should they choose a high-performance tire or one with all-season capabilities? Do they need improved wet weather braking capacity? Should they select a tire with a 30,000, 50,000, 80,000 or a 130,000 km. Warranty? How does the consumer decide on all those choices and ultimately select the tire that's right for them?
Well, it may come down to dealer recommendation, and at Superior Tire & Auto Centres, we have all the information, all the major tire brands and the best service staff to guarantee that you and your vehicle will have the right tire for all your driving and safety needs .... with the best warranties available in Canada.
Why The Price Difference
Remember that when you buy a tire, you are really buying a certain level of performance - and each tire is built to deliver certain performance standards. The difference between a $65 tire and a $110 tire depends on the level of performance expected. At the high end the tire has to do a lot more to handle the high torque, to react to harder cornering, to keeping the tread flat on the ground and give good handling and control. For this tire, softer compounds just won't do it alone. The demands made from the $110 tire include stability and predictability to achieve the maximum level of performance without giving up wet and dry tractions.
The material used in a $110 tire, or a higher priced one, may cost more because they are of a higher grade. The processing in the factory may be different - longer cure times, closer tolerances, more inspecting of tires within a production run - than that of a less-expensive tire. All of these things add up to greater production costs, and consequently, a higher-priced tire, but one that will offer excellent and consistent performance over and over again; for mile after mile.
